Jamie Carragher was discussing Andy Robertson’s performance during Liverpool’s match against Fulham, where Robertson was sent off after 15 minutes.
Jamie Carragher said “It’s one of those decisions where it’s probably an orange [card, between a red and yellow].”
Carragher explained further after Robertson’s dismissal and poor performance leading up to the red card.
Jamie Carragher said “He’s having a tough time and, as a full-back, it’s a very unforgiving position because you can get exposed… I think this [getting a knock] has an impact on him… He gets a yellow card and some people are asking for a red. I just think when he’s running back here, he doesn’t look like he’s running back fully. I think it [the goal] actually plays a part in what happens between that tackle and getting sent off. Now you see this situation here, as well, a little bit gingerly going for the ball… Then he gets the red card. Listen, it’s just been a nightmare day for him. He’s going through a tough time, but it’s something that Liverpool need to address in January.”
