Anthony Gordon was playing in his favored position on the left flank during Newcastle United’s victory over Leicester City. He performed exceptionally well, which is not surprising given that he had been shifted to various positions by Eddie Howe in recent weeks. As a result, his performance improved significantly when returned to his preferred side.
James Justin admitted, “I just felt like we were off it all over the pitch. Me individually and as a team, we just weren’t at the level today and we got punished in quick succession in the second half.”
With the winter window approaching, Anthony Gordon wanted to address recent rumors about his future at Newcastle United. He had been subjected to speculation about a potential departure, despite no statements from him regarding dissatisfaction with the club.
Anthony Gordon told Sky Sports News, “I’d heard so much talk this year about my future, where I’m going, where I want to go without anyone actually asking me. Just leave me to play football, I just wanted to be happy, play football. I loved it here [at Newcastle], I’d said it plenty of times, I thought with the speculation, people assumed it was all correct when they’d never heard from me once that I was unhappy at this place. I loved everyone here. I loved playing football here. That was all that was.”
