Pep Guardiola expressed concerns about how Manchester City’s recent performance streak has personally affected him. He admitted to struggling with sleep and appetite due to the pressure of the situation.
Guardiola said “I slept badly and I didn’t digest [food]. I always had to eat light. Only soup in the evening. I was a person who was nervous sometimes. Yes, I had bad days, I messed up a lot. Rudeness made me nervous. Did I lose my mind sometimes? Yes.”
The Manchester City manager addressed rumors about his potential departure amidst the club’s recent struggles. Despite the possibility of being sacked, he emphasized his commitment to the team during challenging times and expressed no regrets about his renewed contract.
Guardiola said “I would not have been able to sleep – even worse than now – if I thought I was leaving when the club was in this situation. Impossible,” he revealed. “They might have sacked me, that could have happened. But leaving then, in that position? No chance.”
