Paul Merson discussed Arsenal’s need for a new striker following their decision not to sign a replacement after Eddie Nketiah left the club.
Paul Merson said “I’m a big fan of this lad [Isak]. I’m surprised Arsenal didn’t try to break the bank for him at the start of the season. That’s what you need at Arsenal, so you can get people like [Martin] Odegaard and [Bukayo] Saka on the ball.”
Paul Merson commented on Arsenal’s current tactical limitations, mentioning their lack of a forward who can stretch the game effectively.
Paul Merson said “At the moment, Arsenal are a bit congested and haven’t got that running beyond player who’s going to stretch the game.”
