Jamie Carragher discussed Rasmus Hojlund’s outstanding performance on Monday Night Football. The Manchester United striker made a strong comeback after missing the season’s first month due to a hamstring injury. Hojlund, 21, managed to score twice in three starts, with one of the goals being a match-winner against Brentford. After some late substitute appearances against Crystal Palace, Twente, and Tottenham Hotspur, Hojlund took the place of Joshua Zirkzee in a game against Porto. He scored early in that match within 20 minutes, although he didn’t score in the subsequent game against Aston Villa. Despite not scoring while playing for Denmark, Hojlund regained form against Brentford at Old Trafford.
Jamie Carragher said, “Hojlund… I think he’s starting to look a player. I do. I was really impressed with him a couple of weeks away in Porto; he put a real shift in. Outstanding again at the weekend. The man who gets the winning goal, I think he’s starting to look a player, Hojlund. The little look from Hojlund there when he gets in. The little look from Hojlund to the goalkeeper. They are Man United goals—great goals from attacking players. Great finish, the cross from [Marcus] Rashford, the volley.”
