Wolves captain Mario Lemina discussed the impact of Yerson Mosquera’s injury and how the team plans to support him during his recovery. Mosquera, who has been a key player for the team since returning from loan, has undergone scans that confirmed injuries to his medial collateral ligament (MCL) and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). He will require surgery and faces a significant recovery period. Lemina expressed how challenging it is for the team and Mosquera, especially considering how well he had been performing defensively. Lemina acknowledged that the team understands Mosquera’s frustration, but they are determined to help him through this difficult time. He emphasized the importance of keeping Mosquera integrated with the group and maintaining a positive environment for him as he works towards recovery.
Mario Lemina said “It is really hard because he has been amazing since he came back from his loan. He was really confident in his way to play, really hard and really strong defensively and good on the ball. Of course we are going to be around him and he is a positive guy, he is going to stay the same. Of course he is going to have ups and downs because he has been doing really well and I think it was his moment to play for Wolves but it is what it is. Life is like that, football’s journey is like that as well. You need to keep going with hard work and try to get fit as soon as possible and don’t rush as well because it is a tough and really hard injury. He is showing smiles and stuff but we all know that he is frustrated because he knows how important he was for the team. Now it is about us trying to make him happy every day, to make him part of the group even if he cannot play and he knows how we are and how we want him back as soon as possible. We are going to miss him and we wish him all the best for the best recovery ever.”
