Former Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has described Jurgen Klopp as a “legend” after the ex-Liverpool manager returned to Borussia Dortmund this weekend. The German was back at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday afternoon for a testimonial match between his former players Jakub Blaszczykowski and Lukasz Piszczek. However, despite history insisting Klopp and Sancho should be enemies given their previous allegiances in the North West, the former Liverpool manager actually aimed a dig at United for failing to get the best out of Sancho after his £71m move to Old Trafford in 2021.
Jurgen Klopp said “If the whole world loses trust and faith in the player, the manager has to be the one behind the player. I cannot just buy into that, ‘He’s useless’ like other clubs did, by the way – buying a player for £80 million and then sending him out on loan!”
Sancho, meanwhile, could make his debut for Chelsea next weekend when the Premier League returns.
