Frank Lampard has confirmed that their talented academy play Billy Gilmour is set to miss the rest of the season and probably start of next season following knee surgery and it will take him approximately three to four months to be back in action.
Frank Lampard said “Billy Gilmour has had an operation on his knee this morning, so he will be out we estimate somewhere between three and four months, unfortunately, I spoke with him yesterday at length, just giving him support and being there for him. He’s a tough boy, but it did hit him hard especially as a younger player who has just made a breakthrough in recent times and was doing well. The small bonus is hopefully it will cover a period of the close season and into pre-season, so hopefully he’s not missing as many games as he might have done.”
