If Manchester City fail to beat Chelsea today, Liverpool will be crowned champions without kicking a ball and Manchester City will have to give a guard of honour to Liverpool next week when the two sides meet. Despite that, Liverpool right-back Alexander-Arnold, who netted a sublime free-kick against Palace last night, insists that his only focus is on the task in hand.
Trent Alexander Arnold said “We are not really hoping that City will lose or drop points we are just focused on ourselves and we know it is in our hands. It’s up to him, he’s the manager. We have to focus on ourselves and not take things for granted. Whether it comes tomorrow we still get to go to City next week and try to get a result. There are still quite a few games to go this season we need to keep pushing ourselves and hopefully setting a few records.”
