Brentford boss Thomas Frank has admitted that Arsenal target David Raya wants to leave the club during the summer transfer window. Frank was then asked whether this meant that it is just a matter of time before the 27-year-old completes a move, to which he told NBC Sports,
Thomas Frank said: “Unfortunately it’s not that easy. I hope [we get an offer], we are waiting to sell. David would like to go. That’s fine for us. If a club want to buy [him] they just need to find out the price. So I guess it should be simple, but apparently it’s very difficult.”
Frank has previously admitted that it will take £40million for Brentford to part ways with the former Blackburn star, something the player himself has revealed is a slight worry. Speaking to The Times about his future earlier this year,
David Raya said: “I will always feel close to [Brentford]. Being part of the promotion to the Premier League is something I will never forget. I know there are rumours about me leaving. There are some options for me to go but obviously Brentford are asking for a lot of money. That could make clubs not want to buy me, it could make them look somewhere else. But if that’s the value they give me then it’s up to them. I have a year left on my contract and until then I’m a Brentford player, there’s nothing I can do.”
