John McGinn has given a glowing assessment of Boubacar Kamara’s start to life at Aston Villa.
John McGinn said: “The Spurs game was probably his best game in a Villa shirt,” McGinn told Sky Sports. “He’s so calm on the ball, he was a big signing for us – there were a lot of signings who thought they could probably do a little bit more but Boubacar has slightly gone under the radar and he’s been brilliant.”
Hinting that a few Villa players are still adjusting to his accent,
John McGinn added: “He’s still really young, he’s another who doesn’t really understand me and doesn’t bother, but it’s okay. He’s brilliant and hopefully the partnership between him and Douggie (Douglas Luiz) – he’s kind of shifted me out a little bit – but the two of them are doing well and hopefully it can continue.”
The win saw Villa remain 11th in the table but just three points off the European places, ahead of the rest of the weekend’s fixtures. Emery’s side will head to Southampton next weekend as Villa look to build on their positive momentum.
