Fulham coach Marco Silva was frustrated with the result but not the performance against Everton.
Fulham dominated Frank Lampard’s side at Craven Cottage, carving out 24 efforts on goal, but were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw.
Marco Silva said: “I’m disappointed, but just because of the result. The feeling of our players is that they deserved clearly much more from the game, and they didn’t get what they deserve. But I’m proud of them and pleased with the way we played. A very good performance from ourselves again. We clearly deserved the three points, we were the best team on the pitch by far. The game started a bit balanced, we knew before the match the way they can create some problems for us with the sharp players they have in the attack line. We knew that and we prepared ourselves well that they will go direct every time, big diagonals from their two central defenders, more from [Conor] Coady, and in some moments from Jordan Pickford as well. We took a little bit of time to adapt for that situation. Even so, we started to create chances as well from the first 10 minutes, some good chances. Two great saves from Jordan, one good save as well from Bernd. And after that moment we controlled the game. Always on the front foot, getting the ball in our offensive half. Second half we completely pushed them back, I don’t remember one moment around our penalty area. The way we pushed them back to create chances and chances and chances, our reaction when we lost the ball was almost perfect during the second half, the way we regained the ball again, great reaction from our boys, not just Joao, not just Harrison, the most offensive players as well. Very good position always from our defenders to regain the ball and our second half was, again, a very good level. Very, very good level. It’s not easy to do what we did this evening against Everton, a good side. Unfortunately for us, we weren’t clinical. We should have scored two or three goals because we were creative, and this is the main thing for us. If we keep going in this way, more goals will come for us because we are creating. We have shown the desire, the quality to create chances and on a normal night the goals will come again.”
