It was Monday morning, Souness and his Liverpool team were defeated over weekend by Arsenal 0 – 2 at home. Souness reflected on defeat by Arsenal and warned his players to expect physical approach namely skill and sheer grit from opponents.
Monday night football occurred with a game between Southampton and Manchester United. Dion Dublin’s goal helped Manchester United climb out of the Premier League basement when he struck less than a minute from the end of his full debut at Southampton.
