Cenk Tosun is back in training with Everton as he continues his recovery from injury. The 30-year-old has played just five minutes in the Premier League this season, making a late cameo in the Goodison Park defeat to Liverpool. He last played in Frank Lampard’s first game as manager – the FA Cup fourth round win over Brentford – while his last appearance in a matchday squad was in the Premier League win over Leeds United. Explaining his continued absence,
Frank Lampard said: “Cenk was injured a while ago. He had quite a serious quad injury which has kept him out and he’s just now back onto the training pitch with the physios with the hope that he can be back with us over the next couple of weeks.”
Lampard praised the attitude of Tosun, who is out of contract in the summer and has been linked with a return to Besiktas,
Frank Lampard added: “He is a fantastic professional Cenk, he’s working really hard to get fit. His position at the club, contractually, is something we are all aware of so we will see how that one goes.”
