Roy Keane admitted that the news of Brian Clough leaving Nottingham Forest was a tough one for him to take and said that their next game against Sheffield United was “one of the most important matches” of his career.
Roy Keane said “This could be one of the most important matches of my career. We have to win no matter what. He (Brian Clough) is virtually Nottingham Forest for me in my eyes. He has been brilliant to me, bringing me into the first team so quickly and giving me the chance over the last three years. I haven’t even had the time to think how this is going to effect my future. We’ve got two vital games to play, I’ll see what happens and then take it from there on.”
