Pep Guardiola was happy with his Manchester City’s side performance at Crytal Palace – and that explains why he did not use any substitutes during the 0-0 draw. The Blues boss said he had no intention of talking to his players after the game because there was nothing to be said.
Pep Guardiola said: “We played a really good game, really good in a difficult stadium and against a difficult side. They have the quality to run and we (sometimes) lost the build-up ball but it was a really good game.”
Asked why he did not turn to his subs bench, where he had Raheem Sterling, Ilkay Gundogan and Gabriel Jesus,
Pep Guardiola said: “I was thinking about Gabriel and Gundo but the players were playing good in a high, high rhythm. They know that when they play like this there is nothing to say. We have five days before Southampton (in the FA Cup). We did everything. What I want from my team is to do better than the opponent. We played a fantastic football game in all departments. It was difficult to control their players up front. We created a lot of chances. On another day we will score.”
