It has taken some time but Antonio Conte and Tottenham are now getting plenty of joy from the wing-back positions. A key component of his Chelsea team, with both Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso regularly chipping in with goals and assists on a regular basis, Conte also had Achraf Hakimi doing likewise at Inter Milan.

For sure in the last period I was disappointed for the ups and downs we did. I’d like to have a team more stable for this reason. I’m telling you enjoy tonight, this win, our fans to enjoy, but from tomorrow on my players start to think on Saturday. Saturday we have another tough game and we want to be competitive and to show we have a good level to fight.”
Undoubtedly his finest performance in a Tottenham shirt, Doherty’s display against Everton has left fans wanting more from him in the weeks ahead.
