West Ham manager David Moyes declared himself pleased with a point against an “unbelievable” Leicester City side. The Hammers won the reverse fixture at the London Stadium and picked up a 2-2 draw on Filbert Way on Sunday afternoon. Speaking after the game, Moyes admitted the draw was not a “bad result” and thinks his side have picked up a “really good” points return against Leicester this term.
David Moyes said: “We are playing a team who have won the FA Cup and who have not long [ago] been league champions. I think Leicester have been an unbelievable side and have some great players in their team so I do not think it is a bad result. We beat Leicester at home and taken a point at Leicester so for us to take a return like that from Leicester is a really good points return.”
Moyes also explained it was the form of Harvey Barnes that caused him to bring off Coufal in the second half.
David Moyes said: “I thought we had real problems in the second half down their left/our right. I think we gave them a lift up in the first half a little bit but in the second period they had too much of the ball in that area and we did not deal well enough with it and made the wrong decisions and wrong choices positionally wise and I needed to try and change the way the game was going certainly on that side of the pitch.”
