Bruno Lage wants to add a target man to his Wolverhampton Wanderers arsenal in the summer transfer window. Wolves failed to make a significant addition to their squad in the January window, despite head coach Lage admitting that he wanted to sign a defender, a winger and a centre-forward.
Bruno Lage said: “One thing is Fabio and the other thing is the idea I have for the squad. We would have more solutions, but it doesn’t mean one guy comes and stays in front of Fabio. What I want is if you are creating the profile of a squad, the best example if what he have with the wingers – every winger can do little things different. When I look at the profile of the strikers, if I can I prefer to have three. I have a guy like Fabio, a player like Raul… Fabio can do the runs in the channels very good, he’s working hard to improve his game between the lines to link, he’s very good to find spaces in the box to score goals.”
Lage would also like the option of a more physically imposing striker. Wolves saw a bid rejected for Wales international Kieffer Moore during the summer transfer window and watched the 29-year-old leave Cardiff for Bournemouth on transfer deadline day.
Bruno Lage added: “You can also have a young guy to be that striker in the box to win the aerial duels. It’s not to bring one guy to stay in front of Fabio, it’s to bring one guy to have different profiles.”
