Brighton are expected to be without c on Friday night when the Seagulls host fierce rivals Crystal Palace at the Amex Stadium in the Premier League. After the game, Brighton manager Graham Potter provided the media with an update on Mwepu’s condition.

Graham Potter said: “I don’t think it is too serious with the caveat that I have just come from the changing rooms. He didn’t feel anything go, it was just more tightness, I think. So fingers crossed it is okay in the next 24-48 hours. We will see how he is. I don’t think it is too serious but we will just have to see how it settles over the next 24-48 hours, it was more precautionary when he came off.”

Potter also gave an update on Odel Offiah, with the 19-year-old also substituted against the Baggies on Saturday through injury.

Graham Potter added: “I think he [Offiah] went over on his ankle. But I have not had the full debrief from the medical department yet.”
