David Moyes has agreed with Ralph Hassenhuttl on new signings not being able to play in rearranged fixtures in the Premier League. On Friday morning, Southampton manager Hassenhuttl stated that he believes the Premier League should consider preventing January signings from being eligible from playing in rearranged fixtures.

David Moyes said: “I have no idea what any other clubs are doing. I just know that we have our players ready. We’ve been prepared to play in every game so far this season. Thankfully at this moment in time, it could change and we’ve been pretty good with COVID. We have some COVID in the camp whether that be players or staff. But overall we are trying to play the games and when we are asked to we will do so. To keep things as correct as it could be, teams might use the transfer window to strengthen, and teams who have missed three or four games might bring a bigger squad in. That wouldn’t be correct because at the moment we’ve all got to deal with the same things. We have injuries like everybody else and we have to deal with that.”

Despite having Michail Antonio and Pablo Fornals sidelined in recent weeks after positive COVID tests, Moyes insisted the Hammers were never looking to postpone their matches and were ready to play whenever required.

David Moyes added: “We have our players ready and have been prepared to play every game this season. Thankfully we have been pretty good with Covid, we have a few cases in the camp whether it be players or staff, but we are trying to play the games.”
