Leeds United defender Diego Llorente has claimed he was symptom-free when he contracted Covid-19 but insists he is now focused to help his side to three points when they host Burnley this weekend.
Diego Llorente said: “I feel very good right now. I didn’t have any symptoms, I isolated on my own and I had the booster vaccine, so that is the most important thing. I had Covid-19 with no symptoms, so right now I feel good and have a lot of energy to help the team. It was a difficult moment because I couldn’t stay with my family on Christmas Day, but the most important thing is that they don’t have Covid. For me, it was important that I isolated on my own, so they were safe.”
The Premier League confirmed on December 23 that Leeds’ clash with Liverpool would be rearranged ‘due to the number of players with Covid-19, injuries and illness’ in Bielsa’s squad. Llorente had to spend Christmas at home and he revealed how he interacted with his family on the day.
Diego Llorente added: “I had a video call with my family and they were on the floor downstairs and me in my room. I tried to interact with them on Christmas Day in a particular way. This time is the best for my family, so the best thing is that now I am good and that’s the most important thing.”
