Leeds United was kicking themselves for allowing their sixth consecutive premiership victory to escape them at Portman Road. Ipswich, who was short of confidence and without a win in their previous seven matches, battled bravely but should have been swept aside when Leeds finally got their act together in the second half.
However, strikers Brian Deane and Road Wallace both missed clear goalscoring opportunities as Ipswich resistance began to falter. But luckily for the home side, the sustained pressure did not amount to a goal as both sides took a point away from the game.
