Manchester United staged one of their most remarkable fightbacks after they rescued a point with three dramatic second-half goals. The man that Alex Ferguson tried to sign, David Hirst gave Wednesday the lead in 2nd minute, United’s come back started in 67th minute when they were 3-0 down as two goals from Brian Mclair and the 84th-minute strike from Cantona rescued a point.
• Manchester City 2 Sheffield United 0 – White Christmas at Man City
Manchester City’s top gate of the season, 27455, saw their side celebrate a truly white Christmas as striker David White struck with goals in the 20th and 55th minute to give his side a first win in a month against struggling Sheffield United.
