Liverpool who suffered a difficult campaign in 1992 had started the new season brightly winning both of the opening two matches and after an impressive midweek performance, their veteran Zimabweian keeper Bruce Grobbelaar said that the team was looking back to its best and the imperative now was with them to make sure that they keep the performance levels up.
Bruce Grobbelaar said “That was Liverpool at their best (Winning 3-1 against QPR). Watching a performance like that from behind the back four made me feel on top of the world. Our performance was unbelievable, our touch was superb. That typified a true Liverpool side and if we can reproduce that kind of display regularly then I’m telling you we’re going to have a good year. I just hope that the form doesn’t dry up. If we can sustain the midweek performance then we can say we are going back to our glory days.”
