Michael Beale has hit back at an online troll who criticised his decision to follow Steven Gerrard to Aston Villa. One Rangers fan tried to rile Beale in response to a recent Instagram post by the Villa assistant, who uploaded a family photo with the caption: “A quick visit home for a Xmas meal with the family.” According to the Glasgow Times, a Rangers fan replied to Beale’s post saying: “Bet you left halfway through dinner.”
Michael Beale responded: “No mate. Left after one league defeat in 52 and an invincible season. Signing players for free or 50K or from League One that are now worth millions. All about opinions though, isn’t it mate? Have a good Xmas – you don’t have a clue what went on.”
Beale is an important part of Gerrard’s coaching staff at Villa and the club have won four of their six games under the new head coach. Villa host Burnley on Saturday and supporters are already dreaming of a European tilt under Gerrard, Beale and Co.
