Southampton boss Ralph Hassenhuttle says Che Adams’ hamstring injury will prevent him from playing on Wednesday night against Crystal Palace. The 25-year-old striker – the Saints’ joint-top scorer this season – missed their trip to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday with a hamstring injury and has not yet recovered from the issue in time for the trip to Selhurst Park.
Ralph Hasenhuttl said: “This affects every team in the moment. We have to find good alternatives in the moment in order to be successful. We have players who can score goals. We could definitely score more, this is a fact. But this is something we have to work on, definitely. We have shown that we can create a lot of chances, but the finishing part, the last action is sometimes not good enough, not clinical enough, and this is something we have to work on.”
Southampton will also be without goalkeeper Fraser Forster for Wednesday’s match due to the 33-year-old suffering a hip muscle injury.
