West Ham’s come from behind victory over Chelsea had a lot to do with the superb performance of Jarrod Bowen in attack. Bowen played for the majority of the match as a striker alongside Michail Antonio with David Moyes opting to go to a five-man defence against the European Champions.
David Moyes said: “I thought Jarrod played really well, especially in the second half. I think that is the best Jarrod has been for a while. He got a goal and whether it is unlucky [or not] he should have got another. He earned us the penalty kick by closing down the goalkeeper. I think Jarrod’s form has been a little up and down but today he was back to more like the level we expect from him. I thought the two forwards players improved greatly in the second half and that gave us a platform to get up the pitch a little bit more.”
With West Ham returning to winning ways, the Hammers cemented their spot in the top four and are currently four points clear of Arsenal in fifth place ahead of their game at Everton on Monday night.
