Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists no player is undroppable as he considers changes to his dysfunctional Manchester United side.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said “I’ve got to be careful [with] what headlines can come now? Ole is ready to drop Harry’? In a squad like we have, with top quality players, everyone expects to play and I expect every one of them to expect to play. But they’re also ready that they know they have good teammates around them and no one is undroppable, of course they’re not. But it’s up to me to pick the right team for the games and see who is in the right frame of mind for Saturday and then Tuesday it’s Champions League [against Atalanta]. I’m responsible and it’s my job to put things right. We need a reaction, we can’t have a performance like this again. You have to move forward. But this game [against Liverpool] is such a dark moment and it will be in the history books for a long spell, so it’s even more important that we learn from it, put things right and make sure we’re ready for the next one.”

The 5-0 humiliation inflicted by Liverpool last week makes demotions inevitable for United’s Premier League fixture at Tottenham on Saturday, with a number of players’ places in doubt. Raphael Varane is expected to return to the starting XI following his recovery from a groin injury but it remains to be seen whether Solskjaer will drop captain Harry Maguire. The £80million defender is Solskjaer’s most expensive signing and has never been dropped since he joined United in August 2019, but his form has been dismal since he returned from a calf injury in the 4-2 defeat at Leicester two weeks ago.
