Arsenal returned to winning ways against Aston Villa last Friday after two successive draws – clinching a 3-1 win.
Kieran Tierney
After missing out on Friday night’s match due to bruising his left ankle, Arteta said it is unknown how long the Scotland international will be out for.
Mikel Arteta said: “We don’t know how long he’s going to be out. He could not carry on the other day and he’s not available today.”
Alexandre Lacazette
Despite the 30-year-old being taken off in the second-half, Arteta confirmed it was just as a precaution.
Mikel Arteta added: “He worked really hard, he has not played many minutes, he hasn’t played internationals and he is lacking that to finish the games, but it doesn’t matter, he was terrific when he was on the pitch.”
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Like Lacazette, Aubameyang was also taken off during the second period but the Spanish boss admitted he was just ‘cramping,’ confirming it was not a serious injury.
Thomas Party opened the scoring before Pierre Aubameyang doubled the hosts lead deep into added time. Emile Smith-Rowe then added a third before Villa’s substitute Jacob Ramsey scored a consolation goal. The Foxes meanwhile, secured their second successive win after a 2-1 win away to Brentford and will face Brighton Hove & Albion in the round of 16 of the EFL Cup on Tuesday evening. After both Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette were taken off in the second half against Villa, many fans were left concerned heading into the cup tie against Leeds United and Leicester in the league.
