Whilst it was disappointing that Newcastle came away with just a point in the 1-1 draw against Watford yesterday, the Magpies created a host of chances. The best of those fell to Jacob Murphy in the second half as he raced through one-on-one with Ben Foster and looked destined to put the ball in the back of the net. However, he got caught in two minds and could only muster a poor chipped attempt which was never going to trouble the goalkeeper. In his post-match interview, Newcastle goalscorer Sean Longstaff made a surprise admission about his teammate.
Sean Longstaff said: “We have had a lot of good chances. Obviously Murph (Jacob Murphy) at the end, he’s probably the best finisher at the club and if we could have picked anyone to be in that situation at that time, it would have been him.”
