David Moyes laid on the complements for “unique” Leeds United, describing their match against West Ha as “a brilliant addition to the Premier League“. The Whites fell to a 2-1 defeat at Elland Road with Michail Antonio’s late winner giving the Hammers a happy trip back to London. Leeds had taken the lead through Raphinha but were unable to make their first-half dominance count, leaving Marcelo Bielsa’s side winless after six Premier League matches. In spite of the disappointment around West Yorkshire, Moyes was full of praise for Leeds’ performance, insisting that they’re a fantastic watch for any paying supporter.
David Moyes said: “I think when you’re watching you must think this is a great game the pitch seems huge and I think Leeds deserve more credit,” he said. I personally think they are a terrific passing team, but mainly they make really really good long passes I think they are brave with the passes they choose to make as well. You have to stick with them, you have to run with them, you have to try not to get involved into their game, but when they break and when you win it back all you want to do is break on them and then it becomes like a basketball game. But I really think their style is unique. There are not many teams I think in world football who play like Leeds United. I think they’re a brilliant addition to the Premier League, if I was a supporter I would be looking forward to watching them. I am pleased we were able to match them because we have boys who can run as well. I was not so pleased with the first half but I thought we got much better in the second. We didn’t play as well today as maybe we should but I think Leeds United are probably the main reason for that because Leeds are difficult to play against.”
