West Ham United star Declan Rice wants to ‘take himself to the next level’, his manager David Moyes has revealed. Rice was on the scoresheet for his club as they claimed Europa League group stage win with a 2-0 win at Dinamo Zagreb. And speaking after their Europa League game, Moyes spoke about the West Ham captain’s ‘big future’.

David Moyes said: “I think what he’s tried to do is take himself to the next level. He’s a terrific player and he’s getting better. He’s captain of West Ham, for the first time in Europe and he’s scored a goal which made the game a bit more comfortable. He’s still only 22, he’s a young boy with a big future. It’s one step at a time, but he’s doing really well for us. The ability to surge away from people, his power and speed, is a great trait. He gets a bit of ribbing for not scoring enough goals so he’s beginning to stand up a bit now.”

Moyes previously insisted the club won’t be selling Rice and has insisted his future is with the club.

David Moyes said: “We’ve got some players that we value at £100m and we won’t be selling them. That’s the way it is, you’re not going to get rid of your better players, you don’t do it – and if you are then, it’s going to be for huge money.”
