What is your assessment of that win?
I think we played a good game from the first minute. We didn’t allow any chances, we played good movements and scored early, it makes things easier. We scored again and every moment the game was in control. Good individual performances, good play. In the second half we created the chances, I think we had too many clear chances that we should do better. But really pleased.
What did you make of Harry Kane’s performance?
He played good, he scored, he had good movements, he helped the team in possession, out of possession kept his shape, helped recover the ball. He is still improving. But playing is the best way for all players to improve, to compete and the edge of the game is what takes players beyond their limits and that is what we expect from all of them?
He had a great reception from the fans, can you tell us how he is feeling after that?
It was good, our fans are amazing. The support they give for all of us. Even in the training session we had here, the energy you can see. This is what we want, this bond for them to enjoy we give everything we have and supporting themselves in the stands. Creating this energy is good for us.
The fans seem to have connected with you as well?
I can only say I am very thankful for all the support and the reception they give us in the streets. I am working for Tottenham, I am an employee and I will do whatever I can to help the team.
Winks and Lo Celso had good games after a disappointing match in Portugal, what did you make of them?
They played good. It was a different midfield, tonight was Harry, Gio and Bryan. Energy, this is what we wanted and we had it. They controlled the middle of the pitch. I believe games are what make us grow as a team, having the Conference League, we must use this competition to help us grow as a group working together going in the same direction. Really pleased with all of the boys.
Do you sense that he was motivated to put in a display and show his commitment?
My answer to that is that I see Harry every day since he joined us, every day. He doesn’t have to prove to anyone. He’s committed. You can see. All the situations that happens is part of the past, let’s look and move forward, but I see him every day. I see him today in the training sessions. I saw him today at the end of the game, now it is time to recover. He is one more that will help us.
What did you make of Bryan Gil and Ryan Sessegnon tonight?
I will start with Sessegnon. I think he is struggling, he is struggling. A lot of time out of competition. He has talent. He is a player that can give us good things, one vs ones, crossing, he has energy but he did not do all that he has today. I truly believe that he has much more that he can give. I think Bryan did a good game in a different position in the midfield today. He was full of energy and this is what we wanted, reaction to loss of the ball, talent. He brings talent and every time he goes to the final third of the pitch he is is a player who needs to improve in his decision-making but we are here to support him.
The fans are going to expect more from Harry as the games go on aren’t they and he gets fitter?
I think we can expect much more from everybody, from all of us. We are starting the competition really early. I think we’re doing ok. We realise there’s a long way to go and a lot of room to improve, all of us, all of us.
