Harry Kane confirmed on Wednesday that he would be staying with Tottenham for this season despite months of speculation over his future. The 28-year-old reportedly wanted out of Spurs, but the north London club have held firm despite interest from Manchester City. Kane has now silenced the rumours over his future by taking to social media to announce he would be with Tottenham for this season at least.
Harry Kane said: “It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I’ve had in the last few weeks. I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success. #COYS”.
Spurs stars have been reacting to the news that Kane will be staying at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Tottenham duo Sergio Reguilon and Lucas Moura have both commented on Kane’s social media post, while former goalkeeper Joe Hart also shared his delight. Nuno Espirito Santo is another man that has reacted to the news, but not in the form of social media, instead via a press conference. The Spurs boss said on Wednesday following Kane’s announcement: “Great news. Fantastic news for everybody. If you decide later that you no longer wish to receive the emails, simply follow the unsubscribe link in one of the newsletters – but we don’t think you’ll want to.
Nuno Espirito Santo said: “I think since Harry joined us he has been working so this is what we value. His attitude in training sessions have been great. It’s finished, he is going to be with us. He worked today, he is an option for tomorrow. Fantastic news for everybody.”
When asked if he was worried if the Kane saga would restart in the January transfer window,
Nuno Espirito Santo replied: “I am not worried at all. It’s day by day, he’s an option for tomorrow. It’s the only thing, it is my only thought, try and make the best decisions for tomorrow and Harry is an option for tomorrow.
