Tottenham Hotspur continued their perfect start to the Premier League season after a narrow 1-0 success at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon. Dele Alli’s first-half penalty proved to be the difference between the two sides in a closely-fought encounter, as Nuno Espirito Santo returned to Molineux with a win. After the match, the forward reacted to his cameo on his Twitter account, saying that it was a “brilliant battling win”. Espirito Santo also shared his thoughts on the win and wants the whole of the club to come together, including Kane, who looks like he will be staying this season.
Nuno Espirito Santo said: “I think he did well, he helped the team. He had a good chance. Harry is still in the process of increasing and improving his level of fitness because he’s one of the best players in the world. You could see the way he helped the team in terms of possession and the fine lines. We need everybody, we need everybody. He’s better, he’s better today. He has to work tomorrow and keep improving. You cannot put a bar on that. It’s day-by-day. Every day he improves, he improves.”
Spurs’ second highest-ever goalscorer could be in contention to face the Pacos in the reserve European tie and the league match-up against Watford next weekend.
