Chelsea enjoyed a fairytale ending to their 2020/21 campaign, lifting the UEFA Champions League trophy in Porto after defeating Manchester City 1-0 in the final. However, the Blues finished a whopping 19 points behind City in the Premier League, with the Blues finishing fourth in the top flight for the second season in a row.
Timo Werner said: “We want to win a title; it doesn’t matter which one. The best thing would be the Champions League again, but also the Premier League is a big target. One of those titles is our target. For me individually it is to score maybe a little bit more than last year, which was not the best thing, but to keep going and to help the team as much as I can with assists and scoring.”
The Blues appear to be closing in on a deal to bring Lukaku to Stamford Bridge and football.london understands that a bid of £100million could be enough to tempt the Nerazzurri into allowing the Belgian frontman to leave this month. Acquiring the 28-year-old would certainly help improve the west London club’s firepower next season and Werner has admitted that they are desperate to win one of the top trophies again next season.
