Wesley Fofana Leicester City
Wesley Fofana has suffered a fracture to his fibula, the defender has said on social media. Fofana was stretchered off during Leicester City’s 3-2 win over Villarreal on Wednesday night, the 20-year-old immediately signalling for assistance after a scissor challenge by forward Fer Nino. In an accompanying picture, the defender is smiling, but says “it is a bad day”. He is expected to be out for at least a few months while he recovers, although further assessments will give a clearer picture of his time on the sidelines.
Wesley Fofana said: “Hello guys, many thanks for all your messages. It is a bad day today but I am in a tremendous club with a wonderful medical team. I will give you news as soon as I have a final diagnosis but we already know that I have a fibula fracture. I will come soon and stronger. Do not worry, I am a warrior.”
His manager Brendan Rodgers is also due to provide an update on Thursday afternoon, when he speaks to the media at 3pm ahead of the Community Shield on Saturday.
