Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes Burton Albion do not need to feel ’embarrassed’ following their pre-season defeat to Newcastle United. The Magpies recorded their second victory ahead of the new season on Friday night, with goals from Jacob Murphy and Joelinton securing a 2-0 victory. It was an improved display from Steve Bruce’s side after relying on a late Jeff Hendrick equaliser to salvage a draw at Rotherham United on Tuesday.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselblaink said: “They are a very good team and gave us different problems to Leicester on Saturday. The first goal we conceded we need to clear the ball early on. The second goal was from a corner and was disappointing. Overall our structure was good and they do ask you questions but I think it was a good day for us and the fans. I don’t think we have to be embarrassed.”
