Leeds United have been treated to a heartfelt video message courtesy of recently-departed defender Gjanni Alioski, saying goodbye to fans of the club almost a month after his contract at Elland Road expired. Here is every word Gjanni Alioski said in his video on social media.
Gjanni Alioski said: “Hello, it’s Gjanni. Yeah I’m here, I want to say some words to Leeds family, to Leeds fans. Of course I want to say sorry, I needed time, because for me it was not easy to leave such a big club like Leeds United, amazing fans like Leeds United have. I want to say thank you, thank you very much to Leeds fans, amazing supporters since the first day [they] touched my heart. I never will forget these fans. Everywhere it’s Leeds and I will love them forever, the supporters I think it’s amazing I’ve never seen supporters like Leeds United and to the club I want to say to the people around the Leeds United family, thank you thank you very much. Especially also to Andrea Radrizzani, to Victor [Orta], to give me this confidence that I have in this four years, thank you very much. And to the manager Marcelo Bielsa, you have the best manager in the world, enjoy this time with him and I want to say to him also thank you very much. I of course will miss everybody, the teammates thank you very much to the teammates. With them together I reached the dream, we bring the big club back to the Premier League – it was the best feeling in my life and these are the best moments that you never forget and will be always in my heart. To the Leeds fans, you will have a new supporter and this is Gjanni Alioski and I will follow every single game and I will support always Leeds United. I want to say to you goodbye, you will always be in my heart and the last time for the Leeds United fans: Marching On Together,” Alioski finished, pounding his chest gently.
The video came just hours after Turkish side Galatasaray confirmed the signing of former Crystal Palace left-back Patrick van Aanholt, all but ending the supposed interest in Alioski. Alioski spent four years at Elland Road, three of which were spent with Marcelo Bielsa, earning promotion in 2020. In his video, Alioski apologised for the time it had taken for him to resolve his future, which led supporters to believe he had left without bidding the fervent support farewell.
