Karl Darlow has revealed his Covid scare resulted in him being rushed to hospital last week. The former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper has missed most of pre-season so far after testing positive for Covid at the club’s training camp in York. After complaining of dehydration, Darlow has spoken about his ordeal and Steve Bruce is not expecting him back just yet.
Karl Darlow said: “I had to go to hospital last week which was pretty awful – but I’m slowly improving now despite still feeling a bit rough. This shows the virus is still going about and we still need to be careful with it.”
Bruce had been asked about Darlow on Friday night after the 3-2 win at Doncaster Rovers,
Steve Bruce said: “Karl Darlow is still not very well. He’s not great at all, unfortunately with COVID at the moment. The goalkeeping situation should be a little bit better. Certainly we’ve got a couple of them who are self-isolating, they’ll be OK.”
