Former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that he has kept in contact with Harry Kane during Euro 2020. The Spurs striker has been away on England duty with the Three Lions having reached the semi-finals of the competition this summer. The two enjoyed a profitable relationship in north London, Kane netting 45 goals in just 62 matches in all competitions during the reign of the former Manchester United and Chelsea boss. Despite having been dismissede by Daniel Levy in April after a poor run of form, Mourinho has said that he still keeps in touch with the England captain, especially so during the current tournament.
Jose Mourinho said: “I don’t like to disturb players at tournaments — but I did exchange a couple of messages with Harry Kane. He was never worried when he was not scoring and I don’t think Kane gives a damn about winning the Golden Boot. He just wants to win the title and I think they all have that mentality in the England camp.”
Kane endured a tricky run of form early in the tournament, failing to score in any of the three group games against Croatia, Scotland and the Czech Republic.
