James Maddison has described Harry Kane as the “best centre forward” in world football at the moment after the England captain netted twice in his country’s 4-0 win over Ukraine. Kane was on target for the second successive game as the Three Lions booked their semi-final clash with Denmark on Wednesday evening. Maddison, who currently plays for Leicester City but has been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, sent a clear message to all of Kane’s doubters, with the playmaker calling him the best in the world at what he does.
James Maddison said: “Harry Kane… best centre forward in World football for me. People tried to talk because he didn’t score for a couple of games but goes back to that old saying, form is temporary but class is permanent.”
Kane spoke to the media after the game and spoke about what a relief it was for him to grab a goal against Ukraine after under four minutes of play.
Harry Kane said: “It’s always nice as a striker to score early in the game. It’s always a great feeling helping your team. There was a lot of talk around me and my performances, but I’m ready for the next game and try to lead this team to hopefully a European final.”
