Aston Villa could be a potential destination for Axel Tuanzebe on a season-long loan this summer. Manchester United have decided to send the 23-year-old centre-back on loan, after making just 19 appearances last season. United are keen on signing a new centre-back this summer, with Raphael Varane and Pau Torres among the targets. One potential destination for Tuanzebe is a return to Aston Villa, where he has spent two loans spells before. Tuanzebe played a big part in Villa’s return to the Premier League and manager Dean Smith has been highly complimentary of him in the past.

Dean Smith said: “He is a terrific guy. He’s got a terrific attitude, that is the thing which will stand him in good stead with his career. I can’t speak highly enough of him. He was a big part of why we got promoted last season. I loved working with him, and I would like to think I helped in a small part in his development. I look forward to seeing him, but hopefully he doesn’t play too well against us.”
