Kyle Walker has explained he knows Ilkay Gundogan’s weaknesses ahead of England’s game against Germany on Tuesday. The Three Lions are set to play Germany in the Round of 16 of the European Championship tomorrow. Walker has started in both of England’s wins at the tournament, making the starting XI against both Croatia and the Czech Republic. He’ll be hoping his flawless record will ensure him a start once again when England play Germany at Wembley, and now he’s revealed that he thinks his experience of playing with Gundogan at City can help his nation progress to the quarter-finals.
Kyle Walker said: “We know that so we’ve done a lot of research, looked at where their weaknesses are and where we can strengthen our game and really capitalise on that, really. Of course, it helps. It gives you that little bit of knowledge that you need when you’re coming up against these world-class players that they are. Obviously, I play with Gundo at Manchester City so I know what he’s about. I know what his strengths and his weaknesses are. I played a lot against a lot of them in the Champions League final, so hopefully, we can just go and do the nation proud. That’s the main thing. Wear the shirt with pride and get this country where it wants to be.”
