Roberto Mancini has told Moise Kean what he needs to do to win an Italy recall after Euro 2020.
Roberto Mancini said “We were disappointed not to bring Moise Kean with us, Ginaluca Mancini, Matteo Politano and other players. They were all in and around the national team set-up and we had to choose 26 players. Moise is a young guy. He knows he could become a great player for Italy in the future, but, of course, it will depend on him and many other players as well. He has massive ability but he can still improve. I was very disappointed to leave him at home because I really love him as a guy and know he has a lot of ability, but he can improve further going forward, so we were disappointed to leave him and other guys at home.”
The Everton striker, who scored 17 goals on loan at Paris Saint-Germain last season, was named in the Azzuri’s preliminary squad for the tournament but ultimately failed to make the final 26-man rota for the European Championships. The 21-year-old faces an uncertain future at Goodison Park, both because the Blues are in the process of searching for a new manager to replace Carlo Ancelotti, and with the striker having voiced his desire to return to PSG. But Italy boss Mancini has backed Kean to bounce back stronger from his Euro 2020 snub when opening up on his decision to leave the forward at home.
