Four years after he left Leeds United, Chris Wood’s reputation in the Premier League has gone from strength to strength.
Paul Robinson said: “He was brilliant at Leeds and, when he left, they missed him dearly. I think they would have got promoted sooner if he had stayed. Woody knows where the net is and he would score a lot of goals at West Ham. He would be a fantastic signing for them. I suspect Burnley would do everything they can to keep hold of him though. The way that West Ham play he would be the ideal signing.”
The 29-year-old New Zealander arrived at Elland Road in 2015 from Leicester City and enjoyed two good years with the Whites before making the switch to Burnley. Asked about the future of Wood, another ex-Leeds player in Paul Robinson told Football Insider he thinks he would be a good fit at the Hammers, but it’s Robinson’s assessment of what would have happened if Wood had stayed at Leeds which will catch the eye of Whites fans.
