Eden Hazard has responded to his new Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti amid transfer rumours linking him with an exit this summer. The Belgian has had a difficult time of things since making his move to Real Madrid for more than £100million from Chelsea in 2019, missing more than 60 games through injury and only managing four goals in 30 La Liga appearances so far. Amid that poor form, Hazard has been linked with a return to Chelsea this summer, but Ancelotti was clear that he is excited to have the winger on board after being appointed as Zinedine Zidane’s successor at the Santiago Bernabeu this week.

Carlo Ancelotti said: “Eden Hazard? He’s a top player, he’ll show his skills. Hazard and Bale can be so important for us.”

Hazard has now responded to that with his thoughts on the Ancelotti appointment, pointing to the Italian’s first spell with the club – between 2013 and 2015 – when he ended Real Madrid’s long wait for ‘La Decima’, their 10th Champions League title.

Eden Hazard said: “Everyone in Madrid knows what Ancelotti gave the club in the past. He won the Champions League with this group and knows many players. We know he is a very experienced coach and he knows the city and the fanbase. I think we can achieve great things together. (He is) a very friendly person who just wants to win. “That’s what we all want, we will have the chance to work together, it’s good for me.”

Reflecting on his first two years with Real Madrid,

Eden Hazard added: “We all know that my first years there were bad. Now I have to think about the Euro and then be in perfect condition for next year.”

Hazard returned to full fitness in the back end of the season as Real Madrid took the La Liga title race to the final day of the season before missing out to Atletico Madrid, and he now heads into Euro 2020 with Belgium fully fit and ready to feature.
