Villarreal defender Pau Torres has played down the possibility of a transfer away from the club this summer amid interest from Manchester United. While it has been expected that Torres will depart Villarreal in the summer market, the 24-year-old has played down the prospect of a move.
Pau Torres said: “Right now I have a contract with Villarreal. We’ve won a European trophy. We’ve shown we can compete against any opponent. Next year we have the Champions League ahead of us, and that’s what I’m focused on. Those rumours mean that you’re doing a good job. I’m calm. Those rumours came out a while ago and I don’t think my performance has changed, it’s been good.”
Spain are due to face Portugal and Lithuania in pre-tournament friendlies, before facing Sweden, Slovakia and Poland in the group stages of Euro 2020.
