Reported Chelsea target Adama Traore has been given a glowing reference by both Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and Spanish national team head coach Luis Enrique ahead of a potential move to Stamford Bridge. It has been reported that the Wolverhampton Wanderers wideman is on the Blues’ list of potential summer targets. It appears that both Klopp and Enrique are in agreement regarding the former Barcelona’s speedster’s talents. Having granted the 25-year-old his senior international debut,
Luis Enrique said: “Anyone who has seen him play with Wolves knows he is a player who is going to outplay. When he got onto the field, we have changed our game in order to pass the ball to Adama so he could be one-on-one. He is a specialist. It will be very difficult for them to stop him one against one, opponents need to protect themselves. And anyway, he will be able to cross the ball, to generate occasions with numerical superiority and then he has also been good without the ball going forward and coming back. That’s what we need because we cannot forget that to recover our level, we need a team attacking well and defending even better.”
Meanwhile, Klopp has never made a secret of his admiration for the player, hailing former Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo as a pivotal figure in the player’s development.
Jurgen Klopp said: “”He finally found his manager who found a position for him. At Middlesbrough he was exceptional, but somebody had to give him the right information. [He is] A big, big talent. You would never have thought he is that young, but he is still very young, and now he has found [the right manager]. It was always clear it would happen one day, and now it has. Good for Wolves! He is really dangerous. In a big space [Leicester striker] Jamie Vardy is difficult to defend, but I would say Traore is even more difficult to defend because his speed is exceptional.”
